The Mitarth Environmental Institute serves its member and public by promoting environmental responsibilities and providing technical and managerial leadership in the areas of Air, Water, Land for Wastewater Management, Solid / Hazardous Waste Management, Lake Conservation, Land Reclamation, Noise Pollution and related local environmental problems.
The organization contribute to the issue of global importance such as climate change, trade and environment, wildlife and biological diversity. MEI has a dedicated team of more than 20 women & men representing the cultural, linguistic & socio economic diversity of the country spanning a range of professional experience required for its initiatives. The team includes professionals from management, social, software, finance, administration, urban & regional planners, researchers & training personnel, education background.
The Governing Board consists of 7 members. The Governing Board acts as an overall supervisor to the activities. It also monitors and manages the financial developmental and planning elements of both ongoing and prospective projects.
The Organization has its head office in Nagpur and regional offices in Raipur, Mumbai, Pune, Singapore & Indonesia. Apart from the Head Office & regional office the Organisation has its Project offices in the Project areas. |

- To serve the people by executing Water related and Environmental Projects in the viewpoints of the environmental management issues i.e., technical, scientific, economic, social political and public health, also, can be addressed
- To serves public by promoting environmental responsibility and providing technical and managerial leadership in the areas of air, water, solid waste, noise pollution and related local environmental problems.

- To integrates following areas to produce opportunities for technical exchange and To provide complete assistance for the same.as follows : Exploration for the Ground water, Watershed planning and management, Water Bodies management, Geological, Geophysical & Geotechnical investigations, Land use surveys for urban planning & development, Development of industrial infrastructure, forest & soil surveys for conservation, irrigation & development of agriculture, layout of irrigation. Environment & Pollution Control studies, Solid Waste and Hazardous Waste management, its treatment and disposal.

- To Spread awareness on the dangers inherent by Organizing awareness camps, training programmes etc. for people at grass root level and the adoption of home health care routines and products that have proven effectiveness.

- To Educate the masses in rural areas, minority groups, and weaker section of the society through awareness campaigns viz., lectures and camps to strengthen the translation of proven health promotion and disease prevention approaches into policy development, health care practice, and personal lifestyle behaviors.
- To monitor and reinforce preventive measures given.To undertake, carryout, and promote activities for Protection & improvement in Environmental aspects in around the cities and health in rural areas.

- To evaluate the public awareness, understanding and importance to prevent pollution and environmental conditions prevailing in the rural areas through professional expertise.
- To study the Disparities and pattern in Environmental Management Status in India by exploring the factors that may underlie the connections. (preferentially in rural region)
